“Shin is really good at analysis.”
That was something his older brother told him when Shin was a child and used to play as a GM.
The GM status window had a notorious reputation.
In most games, a status window exists to deliver information.
It lowers the entry barrier by conveying a character’s condition or progression through a few intuitive keywords, making everything easy to understand at a glance.
But GM was the opposite.
The GM status window was extremely complex. Not intuitive at all.
Looking at a black screen filled edge to edge with information made one naturally think, ‘Why do I have to study just to play a game?’
However, young Shin actually liked that infamous status window.
It was fascinating how scattered information in his mind would assemble into a single picture. He also liked the sense of superiority of seeing what others could not.
Above all, he liked the praise he received from his brother.
Perhaps those good memories from childhood were what turned Shin into such a hardcore veteran player.
On the road heading down to Busan, the moment the acquisition process was completed, the long-awaited status windows finally opened before Shin’s eyes.

“Wow, this is it. If a guild is going to be ruined, it has to look like this.”
“Representative?”
“Shh, wait a second, hyung.”
From the wave of information flooding his vision, Shin selectively extracted what he needed, analyzed it, and immediately derived a plan.
“Dongha hyung.”
“Yes.”
“I’ve got work for you.”
“What should I do?”
“Something like this….”
If those who supported the Mir Guild were the ones who attached oxygen masks to a dragon in the ICU, then there were also parasites who had been eating away at its bone marrow and dragged it into the ICU in the first place.
“Bring me deworming medicine. First, we kill the parasites.”
The first thing Shin had to do after officially taking ownership of the guild was exterminating those parasites.
—-
Now, Shin was looking at the people he had defined as “parasites.”
Fat and well-fed, as if they had eaten their fill for a long time.
“Haha… transfer, you say?”
“W-what do you mean?”
The entire raid team looked at each other with question marks over their heads.
But no matter how much they looked at each other, no answer would come. Worms remain worms no matter how much they think.
“Mm~ I mean exactly that. Transfers. From tomorrow, you will no longer need to report to the Mir Guild. Please discuss your new guild with your agents. Anyone without an agent? You’ll probably be contacted individually. Oh—speak of the devil, my phone is ringing. That one over there too.”
The moment he finished speaking, vibration sounds rang out everywhere.
As several people hurriedly checked their messages, their faces turned pale.
It was a unilateral notice of transfer.
“The Max Guild? Isn’t that the place we fought over positions with before?! If I go there, I’ll die!”
“This is insane. Transfers happen this easily?”
“What is this? Anchovy? Where is that, a 5th-tier guild?”
Confusion, panic, chaos before disaster.
It had definitely started with hope… Hadn’t it?
He was Shin, heir of the Ido Group. And the Ido Group was rich. Of course contracts would be renewed, maybe even salary negotiations—
They had been drinking sweet delusions. But it turned out to be poison.
“I-I refuse! How can you transfer people without any discussion?!”
“This is invalid! This kind of ambush transfer is illegal!!”
The uproar spread in all directions.
Shin scratched his head.
“Mm. You might not know this, but transfers are the exclusive authority of management. It’s not your concern.”
Tsk. People who should know better shouldn’t act like amateurs.
At Shin’s firm attitude, the raiders turned to their last hope—Yang Panseok.
“Hyung!”
“Team leader!”
“What’s going to happen to us?”
“What is this! Didn’t you say that if we negotiated well, renewal was guaranteed…?”
“……Quiet!”
Even in this chaos, Yang Panseok forced a smile.
Confused and angry, but first he needed to understand the situation. Only then could he respond.
“Explain. What is going on here?”
Clap clap!
“Excellent. You can still smile in a situation like this! Everyone, that is the attitude of a professional. Professionals maintain their pace no matter what.”
“Are you mocking me?”
“I’m praising you. Sincerely. They say those who laugh in hardship are first-class.”
“…Don’t test my patience.”
“Relax, relax. Okay, just drink this.”
Gulp~
The refreshing fizz spread through the air.
Even though the atmosphere had turned murderous, Shin calmly enjoyed the aftertaste of his beer, then turned his chair around and crossed his arms.
“Let me ask you something. Do I have any obligation to take you with me?”
“…!”
Obligation.
Everyone was furious, but that word shut their mouths.
Because there was no answer to it.
“Too hard? Let’s lower the bar. Give me a reason why I should be responsible for you. Logical, moral—anything.”
Even after lowering the bar, they struggled to respond. Eventually, hesitant answers came out, but most were useless.
The usual excuses were skipped. Sick mother? Wife? Too cliché.
Apologetic bowing? Also skipped.
Only two answers were even worth hearing.
“How can you transfer us without even discussing it with us?! At least give us time to organize!”
“I’ve devoted 20 years to the Mir Guild! I cannot accept this kind of ambush transfer!”
It was pathetic that these were the only somewhat reasonable arguments.
But Shin’s principle was simple: if you say something, you must own it.
So he answered politely.
“Mm, correct. Normally, transfers happen after proper discussion.”
But!
“That’s etiquette or custom. It’s not law.”
“And one more thing. This etiquette only applies from League 2 and above. Sorry, but you are League 4. It doesn’t apply.”
Next.
“Twenty years of devotion—good. Very impressive. These days younger hunters hop guilds every 2–3 years like migratory birds to raise their value. But twenty years! Your loyalty deserves applause. However—”
Shin’s curved eyes sharpened.
“If you’ve been so devoted… why are your results like this?”
Results aren’t everything. But in guilds, sometimes they are everything.
At least if you’re a professional, you must prove your value through results.
And Mir Guild’s current rank was League 4.
“Isn’t it reasonable to say there’s a serious problem with that so-called devotion if the results are like this?”
“……”
“……”
Ding ding ding— KO.
The raid members were completely destroyed by brutal honesty.
But just as everyone was lowering their heads in despair—
“Do you really think you can get away with this without consequences?”
Yang Panseok spoke.
No matter how hopeless the situation, a leader looks for an escape route. In that sense, he was a decent leader.
Unlike the others, he quickly read Shin and found his position.
“The fans will not stay quiet. You may think our devotion means nothing to you, but will the fans who endured the dark years accept this?”
It was a fight they could not win with results.
So he shifted from results to emotion.
From logic to sentiment.
He threw out his strongest card: the fans.
And Shin…
“Kya…! Hostage-taking the fans. I’m witnessing peak villain behavior.”
…was genuinely moved.
Truly.
Of course Shin knew exactly who Yang Panseok was.
He had played the character all the way to the “story ending.”
High stats, good traits, solid appearance, versatile tank—useful everywhere.
But he had fatal flaws.
Excessive self-esteem and “hero syndrome.”
“Snake-tail mentality,” refusing responsibility and shifting blame.
Thick-skinned to an absurd degree under pressure.
And most importantly, hidden superiority complex disguised as “for the fans.”
Because of these traits, Shin’s evaluation of Yang Panseok was simple.
Trash-tier.
Not someone to keep around unless you were deliberately roleplaying a villain.
“Alright. You’ve made your attack. My turn?”
He gestured.
A woman standing slightly behind him handed over documents.
Her presence had been so faint that everyone was surprised.
Shin glanced at them briefly, then handed them to Yang Panseok.
“Here. My attack.”
The moment he read them, Yang Panseok’s eyes widened.
Construction kickbacks, equipment company bribes, broadcasting rights manipulation, scouting corruption—
A full list of creative illegal dealings involving the raid team.
“You talked about investing in hunters to improve performance… that it’s the guild’s motto, right?”
Then by this logic, Yang Panseok’s name should be under “investment.”
And whenever that motto wavered even slightly, Yang Panseok’s trump card appeared:
“For the fans! For their support! Everyone needs rest!”
Cornered, Yang Panseok’s expression lost all composure.
His mouth kept muttering curses, and his once-righteous eyes turned predatory.
Then he looked at Shin.
“Should I kill him?”
For someone who lived more on image than skill, if this came out, it wouldn’t end with just criticism.
Criminal charges… lawsuits…
As he thought deeper, Shin’s neck became vividly visible in his mind.
Killing intent filled the room.
Then—
The female secretary stepped forward, hand in her pocket.
A hair-trigger moment.
But Shin only laughed.
“Pfft. What a joke.”
He stood up.
“Move, noona.”
“….”
“Now. I won’t say it twice.”
The secretary moved, shaken for the first time.
Shin stood before Yang Panseok.
A distance where he could die if the man acted rashly.
But Shin was calm.
“Two choices.”
“First, raise that hand and try to stab me.”
He stepped closer.
Yang Panseok stepped back.
Like a cornered animal.
“I knew it. You’re exactly that kind of guy.”
Weak to the strong, strong to the weak.
That was his type.
“So there’s only one option left. Spit out everything you hid and leave quietly.”
“…!”
“Or do you want to go to jail?”
Shin smiled brightly with his hands behind his back.
“You can calculate it too, right? Might as well salvage whatever scraps you can.”
Once control was lost, it was already over.
Now Shin just had to decide how to dispose of him.
And the decision was transfer.
After thinking it through, this was best.
Making noise would only cause damage.
Exposing corruption would reduce guild value.
And selling them while they still had value was the optimal move.
“I’m really soft-hearted. Even trash like this, I’m taking care of.”
He patted Yang Panseok’s shoulder.
“Everyone heard that, right? From now on, check everything you’ve secretly taken—even coffee mixes—and turn yourselves in quietly. If this becomes noisy again…”
Then—
“I’ll make sure it gets really ugly using my grandfather’s name.”
At that final warning, everyone froze.
Shin clapped in satisfaction.
“That should be enough explanation. It was fun. Dinner’s on me. Enjoy yourselves.”
